Should i wear my glasses when driving?

Ok so here's the deal. I already passed my vision exam( i didn't know i was nearsighted then) when I got my theoretical exam, now i have to start actually driving. My vision isn't 20/20 but it's better than 20/40, something like 20/30. I wore glasses for a while and at the beginning I had 20/40 because I squinted a lot so it always made it worse( this was a year after i passed my theoretical exam). I would wear them only when I was writting something of a board and if I was in the back or when watching tv. Whenever I took them of my vision was really blurry, so I looked at the internet and saw that your vision gets worse whenever you wear them. I stopped wearing them and my vision got a little better( no more squinting) but it's still not perfect, but I can see all the signs no matter the time of day or visibility conditions from a decent distance whenever my parents drive me anywhere. I don't want to wear them because I don't my vision to get constantly worse+ plus I hate the way I look in them(i'm vain). Do you guys think i shouldn't bother wearing them or wear them and eventually get eye surgery when i'm almost blind?
