I need glasses but I don't want them?

my teacher said to my mom that i kept squinting during class.. she ask if i ahd trouble seeing.. and i said no.. now my vision is worse.. i can see close up like 5 ft but i cant see far away! everything is blurray.. and i look funny with glasses and people will make fun of me.. should i tell my mom i need glasses or should i not worry about it.. its summer break by the way!
